Halle Berry: Opens up about life after baby, marriage & more kids
Halle Berry didn`t take long to get back in tip-top shape after giving birth to her first child 13 months ago.
However, don`t be fooled -- regaining her knockout physique at the age of 41 wasn`t easy.
"Having a baby takes so much from you. It`s the most glorious thing you`ll ever do, but the aftermath is not so glorious!" Halle, now 42, joked in the May issue of Harper`s Bazaar. "So now I`m having to exercise, eat a little bit differently, take a lot more vitamins."
While embracing a healthy lifestyle is nothing new for the Oscar winner, she said she has a hard time believing other stars who say they don`t have to work to maintain a svelte figure.
"God bless them if they`re telling the truth. It`s questionable if they are," she added. "I always had to diet. I`m diabetic, so it`s a lifestyle for me anyway just to stay healthy and not end up in the hospital."
Although, Halle did reveal one guilty pleasure.
"I like Doritos," she told Harper`s Bazaar. "I`m usually watching `The Biggest Loser` eating Doritos."
Since welcoming her daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry, with partner Gabriel Aubry in March 2008, Halle has taken a step back from her career to focus on her family.
"I used to work a lot because I had nothing better to do. What I`ve learned, especially by having a baby, is that you can`t bring that stuff home anymore," she explained. "For example, I was alone filming `Monster`s Ball.` I was married to someone else, and he wasn`t really around much. Thank God that was only a 20-day shoot."
As far as her next film, "Nappily Ever After", Halle will be required to undergo quite a transformation - she shaves her head on camera -- and no makeup or Hollywood magic will be involved.
"I`m scared to death," she admitted. "I just hope my reaction fits into the story. If it`s uncontrollable screaming, it might be a different type of movie."
But when it comes to her life away from the camera, Halle said she`s right where she wants to be.
"No. I`m done," she said, when asked if she would ever get married again. "I happened to find a person who feels done too, and he`s never been married before. So it works."
While marriage is off the cards are Halle and Gabriel done expanding their family? Maybe not.
"My pregnancy was amazing. I was happy that whole time, I felt good. I had energy, I felt like Superwoman," she continued. "I wish I could feel like that for the rest of my life, that`s how fantastic it was."
