Plot Summary: He is called Taco. Pepe. Chi-chi. Paco. Oh so funny nicknames that only mock the color of his skin. But this young Texan endures the insults and isolation as he tries to make a living as a courier in Los Angeles.
Three Hollywood uber-agents exploit his disposable status and call him night and day to deliver their questionable merchandise to a celebrity clientele. They excitedly use their messenger's desperation to their advantage and soon propose a more lucrative, though slightly dangerous, venture. They promise him respect and power- words grown-ups use to describe an adolescent need to be popular. He sees it as a huge opportunity; the once-in-a-lifetime chance for success is finally within his grasp. And all he has to do is sacrifice his only friend.
Directed by Letia Miller, her feature debut, "In the Dark" stars Brian Luna as a Hispanic messenger seemingly bound by color and status. He's a bright young man--kind and funny. But he's lonely, broke, and tormented by a single-minded drive to escape his station in life.
Matt Clouston plays Chris, an awkward and unassuming young man in love...with nothing to give. Trying to make a better life for himself and his girlfriend, Kate, he recklessly agrees to help his troubled friend. But the stakes get very high, very quickly and Chris soon becomes the target of the agents' cruelty. As the torment escalates from ridicule to violence, the young messenger is forced to question how well thought out his plan for success really is.
