Earlier this week, photos of Beyoncé Knowles filming her next music video in a glittering Thierry Mugler gown hit the internet. According to Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Mugler designed the 58-piece wardrobe for Beyoncé's upcoming tour.

The gown is beautiful and strange at once, but not a particularly shocking choice for Knowles, who tends to favor outlandish pieces by modern designers when she's not outfitted in her label, House of Deréon.

For her performance on the Today Show, Beyoncé sported a black unitard with full body coverage and long black boots and gloves. It looked like she was trying to retain the feel of the leotard she sported in her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" video without freezing to death.

In November 2008, Beyoncé turned to British renegade designer Gareth Pugh to outfit her for her performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Considering she sang the ballad "If I Were a Boy," her style choice seemed a little strange. But hey, if you're Beyoncé, why not?
